ARIMGSAS Introduction to Emergency Ultrasound Workshop is a one day theoretical and practical workshop totalling 6 hours of hands-on experience with an Ultrasound device.
Introduction to Emergency Ultrasound
Our qualified tutors train in most aspects of using an Ultrasound in both Emergency Room and General Practice applications such as abscess management, Ultrasound in pregnancy, in aortic aneurysm diagnosis and vascular access.
During the practical aspect, students will practice on each other using the device to gain more in-depth experience.

- Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm
- Ultrasound in Pregnancy
- Vascular access and abscess drainage
Completion of this workshop entitles the student to 40 Category 1 points by the RACGP QI&CPD Program in the 2014 – 16 triennium,– Activity: 29730.
Approved for 1-day Emergency Medicine (EM) grant
At the completion of this course, candidates would have gained valuable experience in use of an Ultrasound machine and will be presented with a Certificate of Attendance.
