Why can’t I access my student portal?

  • Your course access will expire 6 months after your course has finished.
  • If your course has not finished yet and you see “Not Enrolled” on your student portal, please clear your browser cache and try again.
  • If you’d like extended access, please provide us proof of your exam placement.

Do you have trial exams for both Clinical and MCQ?

Yes, we do!

For MCQ, we provide two major trial examinations and weekly mini-trial examinations during our MCQ Preparation Courses. You can also purchase an MCQ trial examination without being in the course (extra fees will apply).

For Clinical, we conduct several Casual Trial Examinations and one Formal Clinical Trial Examination. The casual exam is for the clinical course participants. The formal trial exam is set up similarly to the AMC Clinical Examination standard. We have outside examiners and role players. You can book to be a participant in any clinical trial exam without being enrolled in a course (extra fees will apply).

What workshops do you conduct? Do any of them have CPD points attached to them?

We conduct a number of workshops, including:

  • IV Cannulation Workshop
  • Pre-Employment Structured Clinical Interview (PESCI) Workshop
  • Women’s Health Workshop

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Workshop
  • Communication Skills Workshop

All our workshops are CPD accredited.

Is it possible to access classes via Zoom, Skype or video conferencing?

Yes, if you cannot come in person to the class, we can organise for you to attend via video conferencing on Zoom.

Can you assist me with my CV?

Yes, we can! We have our own career consultant who can assist you with improving your CV. You can also consult her for other pre-employment services. It is however, by appointment.

Can you assist me with obtaining accommodation for the duration of the course?

Yes, we can. Once you enrol in any of our courses, we can provide you with a list of available accommodation recommended to us by previous clients.

Can you assist me with obtaining my EICS certificate with the AMC?

Mr Alan Roberts, our managing director, has a strong connection with the Australian Medical Council and he can help you in getting your EICS certificate.

What are the chances of me passing the exam after completing the courses?

We do our very best to equip you to be able to pass the AMC examinations. However, you are required to put in the effort to prepare for the exam either through self-study or peer/group discussions and role-plays.

Do you provide private tutorials?

What percentage of people pass the AMC MCQ or AMC Clinical exam after completing your courses?

For AMC MCQ, our pass rate is very high. In fact, in several of our courses we have had a 100% pass rate.

For AMC Clinical, the pass rate is very high. For example, in a number of most recent AMC Clinical examination results, out of the people who passed these examinations, 65% completed our courses.

When should I sit for the AMC exam after completing my course?

This is up to you. We recommend to give yourself at least one month preparation time after you finish the course before taking your exam. This gives you the time to absorb all that was discussed during the course to give you a better chance of passing.

What is the AMC MCQ course structure? Is there a maximum number of participants? Any materials required?

  • Each session is half lecture and half discussion of MCQs.
  • We cover up to 400 topics which are assigned for each tutor.
  • This is a very intensive course, so you can take days off if you wish.
  • For materials, we sell the Handbook of Multiple Choice Questions. Access to more materials will be given during the course.
  • You may also use John Murtagh’s Book.
Do I get a reward for referring a friend to a course?

You can get a 5% referral fee if you refer a new student to any of our AMC MCQ or AMC Clinical courses.

I’m a previous student, can I get a discount?

For AMC Clinical:

  • Candidates who have enrolled their first time in an 8 Week or 10 Week AMC Clinical course will be offered/entitled to a 50% discount for repeating their course.
  • Candidates who have enrolled in any other AMC Clinical course will be offered/entitled to a 10% discount to participate in an 8 Week or 10 Week AMC Clinical course.
  • Candidates who have enrolled in our 7 Day or 12 Day AMC Clinical crash course will be offered/entitled to a 50% discount for repeating their course.

For AMC MCQ:

  • Candidates can repeat any AMC MCQ course for free. AMC MCQ course repeats do not include trial exams, so an additional fee will apply if you need to repeat your trial exam.
  • Candidates who are repeating an AMC MCQ course for the second time, OR repeating for a first time with a gap, must pay 50% of the total course fee, inclusive of trial exams.
  • All candidates will only have access to the most recent lecture notes. To apply for extended access, please provide us proof of your AMC MCQ Placement letter.
  • We can do guarantee that trial exams will be different from prior exams.

Can I get any refund if I cancel/withdraw from a course/workshop?

What happens if I fail my exam?

We can assure you that we will not leave you behind. We will continually support you in your attempt to pass your examinations.

  • AMC MCQ candidates can repeat of their MCQ course once for free. Repeating the AMC MCQ trial exams will code an additional fee of $300.
  • All AMC MCQ candidates will have access to the most recent lecture notes for 6 months after their course is over.
  • Access extension until your exam date is applicable if candidates provide us with a copy of their AMC MCQ and Clinical Placement letter.
  • AMC Clinical students may book an appointment with Dr Alan Roberts who will help you with either taking the exam or getting a job.
Is the ARIMGSAS centre convenient for public transport?

Our office is only 10 – 15 minutes away from the Flinders Train Station. You may take any tram going to St Kilda except Tram number 1 and 8.

Can you assist me in being an observer at a GP Clinic?

 Yes, we accept observers for GP clinics. For further information and availability please contact us on 03 9867 3344 or email us at admin@arimgsas.com.au

I need assistance with PESCI training and getting an available spot to sit the PESCI examination

We can assist you in getting the PESCI date through our career consultant. Usually there are many spots available for HWAV. However, for RACGP and ACRRM, we cannot guarantee.

Can you assist me with finding a job in hospital or as a GP?

Yes, we can assist those who have completed our courses. We have our own career consultant who can assist you with improving your CV. You can also consult her for other pre-employment services. It is, however, by appointment.

Have many of your doctors gone the path to specialise in their areas of medicine?

Yes, many of them have. But if you are going down the specialist pathway, you need to organise an appointment with our career consultant who can outline the positive and negatives of this pathway.

In taking the specialist pathway, you have to pass English first. Then you will need to contact the appropriate college (according to your specialisation) to organise an interview, and this can be a costly experience. During the interview, depending on your performance, you can be given full registration or credits for part of your study, or you can be rejected.

Can you assist me with getting an exam date as all exam dates are currently taken?

Yes, we can assist you but we cannot guarantee anything. Contact us at admin@arimgsas.com.au to book an appointment with Dr Alan Roberts.

Do you give support for people who are seeking registration with AHPRA?

Yes, we do. Contact us to admin@arimgsas.com.au to book an appointment with our career consultant or with Dr Alan Roberts.

Can you suggest the right pathway for me (fees, visas, employment, etc)?

There are several things for you to do/consider:

  • Contact the Australian Medical Council and have your documents assessed.
  • Sit and pass the AMC/MCQ Examination.
  • For registration with AHPRA, you need to pass IELTS/OET/ TOEFL/PTE.
  • Once your are eligible to work, we can help you find a hospital or clinic that wants to employ you.
  • You can sit MCQ/English either overseas or in Australia. If you want to attend a Bridging Course, then we can assist you in your preparation to optimise your performance at this examination.
  • All details about course dates and costs are on our website.
  • You can come on a Visitors Visa, but this is up to you. If you require assistance with your visa, we can reccommend you an Australia Immigration Agent.
