In the Ingrowing Toenail Workshop, the practice will be done by using pig’s trotters and models at appropriately set up workshops. Models have been produced to allow for demonstration and practice of:
1) Removal of nail edge, trimming of nail spike often responsible for the problem
2) Apply phenol-ablation techniques.
3) Wedge resection
4) Post operative care and steps to prevent recurrence.
GPs will have a hand on practice for three hours with guidance and supervision after one hour of education and introduction. The surgical techniques and peri-operative management is the major content in this workshop held by an experienced Surgeon as well as anaesthetic registrar.
1:30pm-2:30pm – Introduction of techniques of 1) Removal of nail edge, trimming of nail spike often responsible for the problem; 2) Use of phenol-ablation techniques; 3) Wedge resection; 4) Post operative care and steps to prevent recurrence – Through PowerPoint presentation
2:30pm-5:30pm – Hand-on practice of the techniques in the introduction – Hand-on practice on pig trotters and models under supervision and guidance
At the completion of this workshop students would have gained knowledge about ingrowing toenail and the surgical techniques in management. Also, the participants will receive a certificate with CPD points for attending the workshop.
Able to identify the severity of the ingrowing toenail and make the management plan.
Able to apply simple treatment such as cleaning and wet dressing properly for mild ingrowing toe nail.
Able to remove the toe nail, trim of nail spike, apply phenol-ablation techniques and perform wedge section.
Able to make management plan for post-operative care to prevent recurrence.
Able to communicate with the patients and patient families about the procedure, complication and post-operative care in a professional and empathetic way.

1. Enrolment Terms

• The full workshop fee is payable at the time of application.
• Payment in full confirms your place in the selected workshop.
• Applications close two (2) weeks prior to the workshop start date.
• A 1% surcharge applies to payments made via PayPal and Stripe.
2. Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law
Under the ACL, you are entitled to a refund or remedy if:
• The service is not delivered with due care and skill
• The service is not fit for its intended purpose
• The service is not delivered within a reasonable timeframe
These rights exist in addition to the specific conditions listed in this policy.
3. Refunds and Rescheduling
A) If You Are Unable to Attend
• You may nominate a substitute participant to attend in your place at no additional charge, provided written notice is received at least two (2) weeks prior to the workshop start date.
• Alternatively, you may request to postpone your enrolment to a future workshop (subject to availability), by giving at least two (2) weeks’ notice.
o A $60 rescheduling fee applies to each postponement request.
o The rescheduling fee is non-refundable, regardless of any future withdrawal or cancellation.
• If postponement or substitution requests are received less than two (2) weeks before the workshop start date, they will not be accepted, and the full workshop fee will be forfeited.
B) Cancellation by Candidate
• No refunds will be provided if you cancel your enrolment, regardless of the reason or notice period.
4. Immediate Implementation
