The PHYSICAL EXAMINATION WORKSHOP is approved with 30 CPD Activity Points allocated in the RACGP 2020-22 Triennium.
Description of activity aim: GPs will be alerted to the importance of the patient-centred approach in physical examination and rapport building. The activity aims to provide attendees with the evidence-based clinical examination methods to correctly elicit physical signs and to form a working diagnosis with various differential diagnosis in mind. The practical components of the workshop offer GPs with ample opportunities to practise the acquired skills and knowledge amongst study pairs/groups. Relevance to general practice: From the literature review and Needs Assessment, the workshop is designed to focus on physical examinations that are usually encountered in GP settings. It has a strong emphasis on developing a unifying approach towards physical examination for both Australia-trained and overseas-trained doctors in various stages of their careers. Every doctor/IMG (International Medical Graduate) should have excellent knowledge and skills to perform a comprehensive physical examination. Physical examination plays a critical role in deciding the hemodynamic stability of the patient in the emergency department, which significantly alters patient management and outcome. This workshop will cover the general physical and focused system examination of different body systems. Physical examination is an essential component of any doctor-patient interaction in different clinical settings. It helps us not only to identify the different system involvement in any particular disease but to monitor the disease progression as well.

We provide these exams for members from other facilities who wish to practice MCQ Trial Examinations for an upcoming Examination Date in a less stressful environment.
- The cost: We provide different types of exams, with different feedback types, therefore the prices vary.

- With results: After finishing the exam, you will only get your result.

- Where to take the exam: The exams can either be completed at ARIMGSAS or in the comfort of your liking. If you choose to complete your examination at ARIMGSAS, we provide the required facility. Otherwise, the exam link with the instruction will be emailed to your nominated email address.
- Exam Structure: Each trial exam is structured in the same format as the actual AMC exam, with 90 seconds per question. You will receive your mark at the end of the examination.
- AMC Guildelines: Both examination types use questions written for ARIMGSAS following the AMC Guidelines.
- Time: Major MCQ Trial Exam (approx. 3 hrs): 120 Questions - Mini MCQ Trial Exam (approx. 45 mins): 30 Questions

We provide these exams for those International Medical Graduates, who wish to practice AMC Clinical Examinations in a less stressful environment. The International Medical Graduates can prepare for an upcoming Examination Date. The cost of the Casual Clinical Trial Exam for nonARIMGSAS students is $100 for Casual Examinations and $600 for Formal Examinations. The trial exam is structured in the same format as the actual AMC exam, with two minutes reading time and eight minutes to complete the task. The Casual Trial Exam is an exam where a candidate tests another candidate. Men’s health is an integral part of general practice setting in Australia. This workshop is an excellent opportunity to learn about the common men’s health issues and managements options in General Practice setting. This activity aims to assist GPs to appropriately diagnose and effectively treat a range of reproductive health disorders affecting young adult men by providing knowledge, skills and communication strategies. The session includes lectures on the common health issues encountered in young Australian men and case discussions.
